2. Pow Ideas
POW Ideas was founded in 2015 by Kyle E & Jun Ong – trained and experienced in architectural design in Melbourne and London with two trajectories of interests, Kyle with landscape design and Jun with light art.
The name reflects the collective's attitude towards projects, i.e., with a "pow!". With a strong interest in material exploration, typologies, and adaptive reuse, the collective constantly looks at challenges and the ability to push the notion of built form across fields of design.
Merchant's Lane is one of their prominent projects in planning to renovate a restaurant and cafe. The persona for the restaurant was built upon the existing characteristics of the space, enriched with modern, neo-oriental nuances ala Wong Kar Wai.
